Ragan made his first NASCAR Sprint Cup Series at Daytona International Speedway at the early days of July. He stands currently at the 13th place on the NASCAR Sprint Cup and its on his way to position himself in the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup with the #6 UPS Ford, supported by Roush Fenway Racing. Stenhouse stands a second in the NASCAR Nationwide Series, following Reed Sorenson closely by a difference of five points.

The Watkins Glen will be the first sports car race for Ragan, while Stenhouse already have some school, he has competed in 3 SCCA club races before. Both drivers have struggle to race at Watkins Glen. Stenhouse has a good chance to win the championship and both may be able to do the chase. The Roush Fenway Performance team manager Brad Francis believes that both drivers will perform great at the Rolex Series in combination of the NASCAR Sprint Cup and Nation Wide Series. Francis considers this is the perfect opportunity to test the waters.
